Observational Work Experience helps prepare people for the workplace. Observational Work Experience allows participants to undertake short-term, unpaid placements with hosting businesses. Participants will observe the work a business does. This means they get to see how the business works without being given a task. Observational Work Experience is an opportunity for businesses to build networks with Workforce Australia and Disability employment service providers.

Businesses can access step-by-step instructions and information including register a business account; create a business profile; create and manage users for an account; find a candidate; advertise an apprenticeship, advertise a harvest job; review and manage candidates; manage wage subsidies.

You may have noticed we have made some changes to Workforce Australia Online. You can now sort your job ads by expiry, applicants, and views, quickly identify the job ads you have created by selecting yourself from the list of authors and filter by status, location, type and terms of employment.

The monthly labour market dashboards combine a range of data sources from Jobs and Skills Australia, Department of Social Services (DSS) and Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) for the 51 Employment Regions. National, state and territory dashboards are also provided.
